Suprised no one has done this yet, but this should show the differences in unova. THIS WAS NOT DRAWN BY ME.I don't believe the ice is part of the game, they're just covering stuff up. I can see some new areas under the ice, some islands to the far right. There's some water and brown near the league...Pier in Castelia has changed...
What do you think?

I dunno, it's hard to translate japanese accurately. They could just be talking about the map, not the actual region.

I'd be very annoyed if the ice was part of the game, but yes, I agree, I believe they are trying to hide things... It does look like Nuvema, Accumula and Striaton still exist though... Thank Arceus...
I'll be interested to see what Black City/ White Forest and Opelucid look like...

the desert resort area has changed alot. and theres a new area to the left of Castelia

Ice part is probably caused by Kyurem. It's only my thinking, because games are about Kyurem.
And, brown thing near League (the one between two brigdes?) is Challenger's Cave, the place where you fight against high leveled pokemon and strong trainers.
Road is finally builded on Route 4... and there's probably new city O_o

Yup yup! Usually they cover with clouds, but you couldn't really cover half of the region with clouds could you? that would look so weird.

Pokébip translated part of a scan that was showing the map and the ice is here because of an event, maybe in relationship with the Kyurem's forms.

I'm still not convinced. There's no ice in any screenshots, even the one of the far-off view. The protagonists aren't dressed for ice. There's changes under the ice that can be seen. The ice is a transparent overlay, not a 3D contour part of the map.
I think it's just translated weirdly, what they probably mean is that the map has ice, not the actual game.

Maybe you'll havta "unfreeze" the region as you progress through the game. Like unlocking new (and old) areas. Just a thought.
