I wished would have a name for his OC :/Anyways this deviation was made for contest which I thought was very interesting to paricipate, so why not? This artwork would have taken me less if it wasn't for the other mane6 artwork I submitted earlier so I had to put this on hold but I'm on time anyways. This is the very first time I've ever drawn that little piece of naked skin that is attached to horses' tails and I was hesitant at first because when I always saw that part of the tail shown like that in artworks was usually for ponyporn.... yeahhhh :/
I like this semi 3D painting, it's a style tahat takes me less than actual painting and with similar results. Made 100% in SAI.

Actually looks incredibly well-done.
This is an insanely difficult position and angle, I find you pulled it off nicely. I especially love the perspective on the hind legs and lighting on his face, I never understood how to achieve those two. <.<
I would make a proper Critique, but I'm sparing my efforts for those internship applications and homework.

for the positioning it really helps that you have a "3D imagination", I really don't know how to call it, but I try to draw the image in my head including the angle before I draw it, also sketching each "layer" of the body helps positioning the limbs in the right place

Oh I do have a very vivid 3D imagination, I just find it hard to project it onto 2D. Like, if I'm looking at a photo for reference, I make the detail lines too thick, so it looks nothing like wrinkles or folds or relief. Gotta practice, gotta practice~
