I'm going to start by saying that OMFGBBQ ITS SAMUS YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!

The background is amazing. The planets have a surprising amount of detail to them, the stars look good for a series of dots and we even see a slight "Milky Way" effect just right of Samus' thigh there, and that big purple planet top right is very intricate and beautiful. Dat atmosphere. I'm immersed already.

I can easily see your marker strokes, mate. I'm not too worried about minute execution details like that, but I'm going to dock points in this regard. I can still see where two marker strokes overlap in some places, and other places are just paper showing through missed spots. Other places where execution is behind the curve is the aforementioned Samus. Why did you skimp so badly on the detail work here? She's bland and cartoonish compared to that elaborate and intricate detail work of the background and looks very much out of place. She is very terribly proportioned in this drawing as well. That left arm is the worst offender by far in this regard (it's half again as long as it should be), but the waist, right leg, left thigh are all too thick, and seriously, what's up with that puny Arm Cannon? The pose just looks awkward, which again, isn't helped by the lousy proportioning. How she keeps her balance standing like that, I have no idea.

I love the detail work here, but in the end, details don't mean jack if you don't have a good "big picture" to back them up with. The obvious flaws with this piece are saddening and disappointing to me considering how well done the rest of the piece is, and how awesome the finished product could have been.

One of your bests ever. Great composition w/ the character up front and the spacescape. And you really knocked it out of the park with the colors! OK now I'm off to play some Super Metroid.
