It snowed the day you came
Just light, fluffy, wet snow that floated to the brownish green grass
The sky was dark as the moon steadily watched the Earth
Accompanied by the joyous twinkling stars
But the dark clouds acted like curtains so they couldn't see
We stayed in the waiting room until we could not take it anymore
Then we snuck back and hugged the wall beside the delivery room door
Your grandmother and I heard the final grunts of your mother's pushing
We heard your father and doctor coach her on as they saw your head
Then we heard a thing that made us both cry
The borning cry of a healthy baby girl
We snuck back to the waiting room until your daddy came and told us
The news we both already secretly knew
