Like an unwanted darkness
It tears you
Deep wounds in your throat
It sneers at you
Makes you wimper in mixed emotions
It confuses you
So easily that you want to deny that it's there
It banishes happiness
Into a whirlpool of feelings that almost seem to drown it
It cages the heart
Binds it tight until it seems to sufficate
It infects you
A type of unseen spirit-eating leprosy
It leaves you
Eventually dieing down when you aren't alone

I wasn't lonely at camp. I've realized that as long as I am surrounded by friends I don't need the romance that I've been longing for...because it is then that I forget that I long for it.
