Description Shot at the Krohn Conservatory [link] and I am still amazed that I grabbed it. So I shrunk it down to 1600x1200 just in case anyone would want it for a desktop. I called it Lifecycle because I noticed that every stage of the Echinacea (not Daisy as pointed out by =somedrunkblackspoon ) is there, up to and including the pollination.

UMM WOW, ye gods!!! I am well honestly speechless, and if you knew me, that would amaze you. Thanks for all of you checking out my lucky capture of nature at it's best. I want you all to know that I grabbed a 1600x1200 section focused on the bee that I thought was nice also especially since you can see the pollen, you can see it at She Dreams in Digital .

Wow. I love the depth of field. The it's long enough to just see the other flowers in reasonable detail really completes the shot.

Wow I really appreciate that you noticed one of the specific points I was trying for when I took the shot.

Yeah, I will admit to the framing being my call and as such I am very proud of the way it sets up the center focus of the picture.

beautiful pic... I have tried to get shots like that... but the focus always messes up...

I understand, that is why this was a third attempt and the first two never even left the memory card.

Agreed, but that is the price I pay with my camera when taking a macro like this.

I usually hate bees but I think it definetely fits with your picture. A lot of flower and/or plant pictures seem surreal in some ways and to me, the fact that the bee is there, gives your picture a clearer sense of reality. I could be crazy, but I love the shot either way.

This is an amazing shot, and the detail is utterly fantastic!
I really like echinaceas too... Thankyou for reminding me of their real name so I wasn't reduced to calling them "pink daisies".
It's so beautiful... I must

Wah this is amazing ! for sure Good shots are also a (small) matter of luck, I guess ยป I prefer to call it patience, if you stare long enough to something, it will happen (what, we just don't know).

Wow, thanks for the correction, my notes were off and I never noticed it, but then again I honestly expected ten pagevies and did not pay as much attention as I should have, it is a good lesson to never forget this can happen on DA.

no problem. we have some in the garden here and i saw it, then got curious, then read the description and it caught attention. seemed i felt like letting you know.

it is a very nice shot mind you, and congrats on the DD.

Thanks, this shot honestly made my year, I rarely post any shots I take because something about them makes me unhappy, but this one...wow. I was just lucky the original capture was 2592x1944 so I could have some fun with it.

I was lucky to get that clarity, hand holding camera, bee inches away, but it seemed like my pulse, the wind, the bee, the flower all just stopped, so that breathless I was able to snap the shot. Of course, the Bee in an act of defiance did waggle an antenna at me.

Yes your flowers are very like these, great fractal mapping of the universe, so that all the DNA works in a like manner.

SweetFatality [2005-07-10 14:01:44 +0000 UTC]

reminds me of an old cult film, Harold and Maude... "What kind of flower would you be?" "A daisy because they're all the same" "But look, this one is shorter and this one has lost a petal and this one has more leaves... The problem with this world is that people allow themselves to be treated like daisies when really they're all different" ... or something like that. Wonderful picture. I *heart* bees and flowers....
