Garfield the comic sucks. Garfield and friends, the TV show, was brilliant. The cat had some of the best dry and cynical one-liners of their kind, and I loved the show when I was younger. When that show stopped making new episodes my fix for mean-spirited sarcasm humor went dry.
Daria came to save the day. I think some of her lines are even more funny, and a thousand times more scathing. I'm watching the series these days, and I almost wish they'd throw in a rim shot for some of her really good one-liners. Anyway, as someone who was never really popular and didn't fit the mold of High-school life, I always appreciated that kind of point of view.
Finally, about your art. Really like this one. I lol'd pretty hard at this line.

Indeed Daria IS cool, it's one of my favourite shows because of it's social commentary and just the awesomeness and diversity of the cast. I love how it shows women in positions of power abd guys (who are traditionally the stronger characters) as weaker, more unstable characters. Although the Daria series promotes freedom of speech and Establishmental society in which Daria is the outcast, don't you think it's a little hyprocritical that everyone is so sterotypical when Daria herself advocates passively against it? It's a very ironic cartoon.
