I felt it was time to draw an alicorn, and that alicorn turned out to be Celestia.

So, finally, I give you a piece that I am 100% happy turned out exactly how I envisioned it. This is undeniably my best piece to date and will probably be for a while.

This scene takes place some time after Celestia first began mentoring Twilight but before the events of the actual show. It's what I imagined Twilight and Spike's first encounter with her Trollestia side would be like.

Now, I'm not sure if I made it obvious or not, but I tried depicting Twilight and Spike a little bit younger than their television counterparts but a little older than they were in Twilight's flashback sequence in the Cutie Mark Chronicles episode. It was a lot easier than I expected it to be and the results are quite pleasing.

Also, yes, I believe I have put too much thought into this one piece of fan art.

Well, I hope you guys love it as much as I do. This was a blast to make.

EDIT: Okay, so it didn't turn out quite exactly how I envisioned it. I forgot to shadow in Twilight's far legs. Now it's perfect.
EDIT 2.0: I just wanted to make sure all characters were to scale. Turns out, they weren't. This has been fixed.
