One of the reasons Twilight had no friends at the beginning of the first season is because she got non-stop unfair special treatment from Princess Celestia.
While all the other students struggled with their studies, Twilight & Celestia fooled around continuously in plain sight of the other students.

I can totally see Princess Celestia doing this! She's beautiful, wise, regal, and she's still as silly and playful as ever. Perhaps that's all a lessen well worth teaching her subjects. "Throughout all of life's trials and tribulations, don't forget to have fun!"

I think I know a good reason for Celestia doing the Pinkie skip.
I'm guessing Celestia figured if she acts hyper enough during her personal time with Twilight, her student might subtly get fatigued from keeping track of Celestia to the point where Twilight will get tired by bedtime and does not stay up too late reading her books.

Princess Celestia is sure giving little Twilight stiff competition for who's most adorable here. They both look very sweet and lively, giving off a great feeling of action. The background is also terrific, especially the "noise" to make the wallpaper pattern and doors seem more natural rather than too perfect. Though the really shiny marble floor works very nicely too.

Thanks! Doing all the treatments to the background and overlay was the most enjoyable part for me. I'm still at a stage where getting the ponies looking right is a tad nightmarish. I won't be reattempting celestia for a long time that's for sure!
