Well, drawing a shoulder is, at its most basic, drawing a sphere. The collar bone is a line and the two are connected. When drawing raised arms, the collar bone of the figure has to be moved too, very simple, but I think kind of intimidating. I could make a quick sketch to show you what I'm talking about if you like, yes?
