my parents don't phone in the car at all..
i mean, only when they don't drive anymore they answer the phonecall...
well, i don't phone that much as well, i don't want to speak to others on the phone.. (because i don't want to be rude to the people near me..)
well.. other people who i know use it to screw other people on the phone for fun.. (i don't know if you understood that sentence.. my eng. is so damn bad..)

Eh. My mom kinda has to talk and drive. She's in the car around 6 hours a day (she delivers newspapers), same as my dad. Of course, they're 57 and 63, and they've been driving a long time with a lot of distractions (try having 6 kids in the car).
But I would certainly NOT advise inexperienced people to talk and drive unless it's important, and NO ONE should text and drive. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard of.

Well, I think that no matter what, it's going to be a distraction, even if it is a highly experienced driver. However, I would prefer it to be a high experienced driver with a phone instead of a silly 16-year-old.

Well, I'm in high school. So phone in class equals an automatic detention plus getting your phone taken away. I also have a friend who will call people in the middle of a conversation. Call them, not just receive calls! Then she disregards everyone else and it's never anything important. She also just starts texting and ignores everyone else. I think texting is okay if you're in a situation where you can't talk (doctor's office waiting room?) or if you're just sending a quick message (telling someone to remember to buy milk) but not like that! Also, texting speak is the worst invention on the face of the planet. I can understand using it in texts (even though I use proper spelling and grammar every time I do something in which words are involved...seriously) but it is NOT okay to actually say "OMG" or "LOL" or "BRB". I generally frown upon poor grammar and spelling (like in DA comments. Twi-hards do it all the time when they flame Harry Potter stuff "omg i luv twilight hp sux go to hell and die and fuck urself dum bich"). Plus, is it really that hard to type out "I don't know" or "be right back" or "oh my god/gosh/golly-gee-whiz"?

I so agree! My friend always says, KK and brb! It drives me crazy! I was talking to her and this one girl we hate was sitting near us (it was during class when we could talk) and I said how I didn't want text and the one girl just started at me and said, "What?! You don't want txt?! Who wouldn't want txt!? (text addict)" I prefer SMS.

I /hate/ cell phones for exactly that reason. I can't count how many times I've been in the middle of saying something when someone will just start talking on their phone or worse, walk away without excusing themself to talk on their phone.
Makes me feel like they've decided whoever's calling is more important than me. Kinda hurtful. >:C
