"L-let go of me, you.. COW!" Akane snapped at Ranko, but instead of being met with an equally hot-headed reply, Ranko simply tsk'd her and gave a disappointed sigh.

Ranko carefully planted her feet and used her hold on Akane's body to send her to the floor, but before she could recover, Ranko promptly sat herself down atop Akane, pressing butt to butt. The shock of feeling Ranko's weight atop her gave the redhead an extra moment to situate herself into a kneeling straddle against Akane's back, pinning her to the floor. "What do you think you're doing! You call this fighting!? Get off me and fight FAIR!!" Akane was too embarrassed to put any real anger behind her words. She wanted out of this bizarre situation more than she wanted to fight.

"Ah, ah, ah~.. It's called the Anything Goes School of Martial Arts, dear. Adapting and learning to use different technique is an important part of the School's philosophy." Ranko gave her hips a little wiggle, settling more heavily against Akane and proverbially rubbing a little more salt in the wound.

Akane tensed up again and clenched her fists tightly. Was Ranko's butt really as big as it felt? How the heck did she manage to pack on so much weight so quickly? "Wh-whatever! Just get off me, already!!"

Ranko complied and took a moment to daintily dust herself off before offering Akane a hand. She took it, but her expression was anything but thankful. Ranko was grinning like her old, smug, arrogant self. It was a little bit a relief for Akane, seeing her fiance still acting like the jerk she always was.

"So, are gonna to admit that I'm a better martial artist, a better cook, and better wife material than you, now?" And just like always, she pushed things just a little too far...

The short version of things is Ranma feels bad that her Mother is so lonely, so Nabiki gives her to idea to just disguise herself, like she always does, and pretend to be her friend. It ends up working too well and Ranma waistline starts to suffer. After long, she's spending more time in her fake housewife persona than training, and all the trips to pastry shops and carefree time spent with her Nodoka is showing on her waistline. When Akane finally discovers this secret, she challenges Ranko to a sparring match, just like the first time they met.. And well, you can see how that went.
