Cutie mark and eye embroidery done by Lorrie's Broideries www.lorriesbroideries.com

This is my first attempt at anything in 3D and my first attempt at ever making a plushie.

She has posable wings and legs and all of her regalia is removable and secures via magnets.

What material is her decor made of?

Her body is anti-pill fleece, the mane and tail are organza backed by satin, the horn is satin, and her regalia is made from lamé backed with sew-in interfacing. I used Fray-block on the inside edges of the lamé to keep it from unravelling.

Was working with lame hard? I was a bit concerned so I went with a metallic spandex for my batpony.

Lame is fairly hard to work with. It frays almost as soon as you cut it and pulls very easily. It also picks up colors from pattern markers. I used blue dress chalk. I ironed it on a low setting first. You have to iron carefully on low or it will melt or at least distort the fabric. I used pinking shears for my initial cuts of squares of fabric. Then, after I had ironed the pieces and marked them, I ran Fray Block around the 1/2-inch edge area and let it dry. That made it much easier to handle and cut. When sewing it, I used a fine needle meant for metallic threads. Anything higher than a fine needle will cause dragging and pulling of threads. It's a real pain to work with, but the resulting effect is well worth it.

If you have to make (regularly colored armor), use Metallic Spandex for now on. I just played with it a few minutes ago and I'm extremely pleased with it.
I've heard a lot of negativity over lame, so I gave that a try. Can't go wrong there.

Thanks. I think that itis very cool. The cutie mark is copyright to lissy-strata.deviantart.com/ as part of the original art piece. She was kind enough to provide me with a vector of it when I asked her for permission to create the plushie.
