Remember when we were allowed to be ourselves, As our society exclaimed "be yourself". It's a shame that they tend to contradict themselves. Now when we can finally identify ourselves we are stalled, Bystanders watch as we are put on trail, whispering their two cents. Ostracized by loved ones, we stand in the storm, Wind blows as we try to see some clarity. Standing there we imagine our castles in the sky, Far from danger and in providence of comfort and love, Our castles float just inches away. Reaching for them seems possible, Sadly, as my mind clears and I peer blindly into the mist, An alarm goes off into it's usual routine, I realize that a) Love doesn't always overcome and that b) Everyday I must continue to go on without you and our dreams.
