I feel like you can work more on texture, like making the hair with strips and shines, scissors that shine and have a metallic feel, etc.
it looks a bit flat, even though I do see shading.

It was technically a speedpaint. Not supposed to look like finished illustrations.
It does look odd the way it is, but perhaps the unfinished look works..?

There are many ways that this could be interpreted, but lord almighty,
you've told such a powerful tale without uttering a single word.
I've been looking at this again and again and your pure talent just...
it tears me apart.
THIS is true elegance.
and this is also why I admire you so much. Such amazing, true artists like yourself have an amazing ability to silently grasp a person's heart and hold it there until it melts. This piece is crammed full with such intense emotions. It really brings back some sad memories, but the thing is,
you've created a piece that I'm sure everyone can relate to in one way or another. Sometimes it's nice to feel understood, even if it's a song or a picture that engages the feeling. Nonetheless, this was absolutely worth waking up much too early for school, and then stumbling upon this. I've been smiling at the thought of it all day.
