Planned out before the second EG movie covered her redemption, this was my take on Sunset's redemption story. Coming back through the portal wanting to make amends, she finds herself unable to face Celestia initially considering her past misdeeds nearly doomed the world. Through bad luck she winds up getting corrupted again by a dark force that preys on her fears and insecurities, gradually influencing her mind back to the darkness.
Through a lot of pain she manages to overcome it's corrupting influence and turn on it, giving them the tool they need to banish it for good while nearly dying in the process. At the end she finally does make amends with Celestia before returning to her friends in the human world whose hearts gave her the final push she needed to save the day and reflecting on what she had experienced.
