I haven't dome tribal art in forever and I haven't done any fanart of Pokespe at all recently so let's do fanart of Ruby and Sapphire :'DErghgh I think I tried to hard on the bubblesΒ

If this is supposed to be a tattoo design, I think you did a good job with the level of detail included. The bubbles, as you say, are a bit more than what I would expect, but they do work to convey the water element. My only complaint with them is that they are used multiple times in different sizes, as though they are a set of brushes. I do like the almost yin-yang appearance of the two falling below the dividing piece, though.
The inclusion of the Pokeball is nice. It's understated, and portrayed in a recognizable manner. It definitely marks them well as trainers (if indeed they are - I haven't played Sapphire/Ruby yet).
I like the disconnected line elements of the outline. It definitely adds to the feel of this piece being used as a tattoo image. There are a couple of things I think do detract from that:
- The outline from the forehead to the chin is a little thicker than I would expect, especially on Ruby's side.
- The eyes, while appropriate for a more detailed 'traditionally' digital image, are not 'in line' with the rest of the image's style. They stand out against the more abstract lines of the remainder of the drawing.
- With Sapphire's side, the open chin line makes it seem as though it flows into the hair that you have coming from the other side of the head. I would recommend drawing the curve of the chin, even if you don't fully connect the lines, simply to provide more definitive form.
I do like the flame emblem behind Ruby's head, especially as it contrasts the water from Sapphire. One thing that I am curious about is the coloring. Since you have the reds going from light to dark as you move away from Ruby's nose in the profile, it's odd that you choose to have the lighter coloring at the front of the flame instead of the back. It might be worth considering to reverse the colors so that there's more of a sense of chromatic flow.
Overall, I think you did a good job with the design itself and the elements you chose to include. Please do understand that my comments are merely my thoughts on your art, and I do hope that you find them useful for your continued growth as an artist. Thank you for sharing!

In contrast to some, I actually love this. As a fan of Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald from back in the day, I think this piece is beautiful. The colors match up with the legendary Pokemon present in each game, and the tribal aspect is a wonderful way to do something unique.
I like how even though it's a tribal design, you can tell which character is which, not just by the shape, but also by the designs on the cheek. I think it's a very unique way of using the patterns from Groudon and Kyogre (spell check please; been a while since I've played R/S/E) to represent the characters.
All in all, I think this is a beautiful piece, and if I ever scrape up the money, I might get this as a tattoo XD Great work! ^^

Terrible use of colors and shape. I cant even tell what this is suppost to be. I guess this is a good job if you were toe painting. You really must have been is a rush as this looks very rushed and not much thoughtput into it. I have notice all of your art is extremely thoughtless and boring the blank canvas itself is more interesting than what you put on it in most cases. I hope you will take my advice to bring your work to the next level or at least improve, and I need three more words for this review
