They say in the original Snow White, there was no evil step mom. It was her BIOLOGICAL mother who was jealous. Imagine Raven being Apple's mother.

I think, with the way Ever After High has everyone inheriting their parent's destinies, that would make Snow White Apple's "evil queen" counterpart instead. But Mattel probably prefers the clear-cut good character/evil character separation, which is why Raven exists.
