Strictly speaking, it's not a beetle but a bug (they are very different family with convergent feature so they look similar )

Amazing. Possibly the colors are intended for one beetle to recognize another, but how they put themselves in position to see each other seems tricky.

I didn't thought about that, but yes that's possible they use colors and patterns for mating. But I think it's mostly to warn predators of their toxicity and foul smell, because most bugs from this family have glands to secrete some stinky fluid ^^
