I'm always amazed at the level of detail people can put on 3d models. Do you just improvise everything or do you have an idea of what every little thingy does?? Do you have a clear idea of what you're modeling before you get into it or does it just materialize as you go?

I'm sure there are people who have very clear ideas as to what they want their final outcome to be, but personally i'm a go with the flow kind of guy, I have a rough idea of what I want (an exoskeletal suit for example) and I just work with that goal in mind, I add bits in if I think it will look cool, and I take bits out if I don't think they work, I just keep messing with it until I get something that I like
