Description
An alternate book cover I did for Stephanie Meyer's newest book Eclipse, third in the Twilight series. This was for a school project
Done in colored pencil for the foreground, with chalk pastels in the background. Sorry for the bad photo...That's Bella in the middle, with Edward on the left and Jacob on the right. She's holding two slices of apple, because they sort of represent the two halves of herself that are divided between them.

OMG CONGRATS. You have rendered the very first fanart where you actually made Jacob look Native American, rather than Caucasian with olive skin.

So i'm definately in love with your semi-realistic style...that's what I want to be able to draw like, eventually. Most of my stuff ends up looking too...cartoony. Any tips?

I am not really one to give out tips, since there is still a lot about my drawing skills that needs work! But one thing i can tell you for sure is that if you want to really learn to draw realistically in any way, a really good place to start is to draw from life. Animals, people, faces... whatever you can find. That's how I'm learning!

Yep! Part of my problem is tha I draw things from my head and hardly ever use references. Maybe actually looking at real things will help, espeically if it has already helped you and others.

I thought the apple was an allusion to adam and eve. Bella learning forbidden knowledge type stuff. Nice bella by the way. I HOPE the movie has even half of the greatness of the books.

hmm.. this comment had me thinking. I always thought the apple stood for "forbidden fruit" Bella was the forbidden fruit that Edward just could not have.
I guess it could be interpreted either way.

The only criticism i have is that edwards nose should have been straighter.
