Description
Yes, I know it's fantastically blurry, but it'll do.This is the only stone sculpture I've ever done, 5 years ago in my high school Pre-AP Art class, senior year.
It's not great, but I'm still pretty proud of it.
I'd like to give stone sculpting another try one of these days, but it's expensive...
I don't remember what kind of stone it is... But I remember being the only person in the class to end up with a stone of such a pretty color. Everyone else's was a dull gray, or sickly green, or icky brown...
Lucky me.

Really? That's odd... It's not difficult, just time consuming.
The cool thing about picking out our rocks was at first, they were all in a big box, and completely dusty, so they all looked the same. I didn't really even know the true color of the thing until I washed off all the dust after I was finished with the project, prior to waxing.

Ok, I talked a little bit with my gf last night and I was like ooooooooh stone sculpting ok. XD >>;; With a chisel and hammer ne? She was like yeah. So sorry about that. xDD;
Thats the hard thing about rocks.. You never know for sure how pretty they are until you polish them up. I had this rock tumbler kit, it was basically a toy kit though. Anyways and the first bunch of rocks I did didn't come out as good as my last set. But I had to break my tumbler open to get the last set out because they had been tumbling for so long.
They were the prettiest rocks though. Too bad they never got the chance to be polished. T^T

Dead serious! Mercury is the most dense metal known to man...lead floats on it, I swear!
See? Watch! *Drags you out to Doctor Johnson's Chemistry lab at four in the morning and demonstartes the fact that, indeed, a lead balloon really does float on mercury"

Buh...but...mercury is the most dense metal known to man, Jami! How could you not want to take that class? You get to play with highly poisonous chemicals! Hydrochloric Acid! *waves a vial in front of your face, attemtping to tempt you*

But I would fail it, and I'm paying for it.....
I've decided to take Dr. Jordan's Rocks for Jocks. My art classes will suck up most of my time. The easier the rest of my classes the better. 'Sides, I like Geology.

From what I remember, it's not too bad. It's just a very slow process. The interesting thing about it was, you don't go into it thinking "I'm gonna carve this rock into ____."
You look at the rock's shape, and imagine what it looks like, then bring that something out of the rock.
My rock looked vaguely like a rabbit, so that's what I carved. Interesting stuff.
