Description
This is a graphite drawing I did for a grade in my Drawing I course. I don't have much else to say about it except that the scan is bad... Not much I can do about that. And the drop shadow didn't survive the scan too well either, but it still looks okay for all intents and purposes.So far, this is the only project I've actually enjoyed doing for my art class.

Well... Not really, now that I think about it. It only took me two class periods to finish, and each art class is an hour and fifty minutes. The first period I did a structural outline and got all the angles down... The second I spend filling in the details and whatnot.
I was surprised by how quick the process was, myself.

I rather like using charcoal... The most fun in that class I've had all semester so far was the day we used charcoal to do 30-second gesture drawings of human figures.

Okay... So the plan last Thursday was to get some of our (me and Nate's) mutual friends together to go talk to him, since NO ONE, not just me, had heard from him in weeks. We found out in advance what his work schedule for that night was, and agreed to meet there no later than 4:30pm, since he clocked in at 5pm and we wanted to speak to him before he started work.
Unfortunately, Kevin was the only one that showed, and LATE at that, so we were forced to buy some stuff and go to his register.
Kevin went first, and Nate greeted him normally. Kev asked if it was still okay for him to call, and Nate's answer was yes, and that he just hadn't had time recently to call Kevin. So gladly, Kevin knew at least HE wasn't despised.
Then came my turn. Before I could say a word, he said, "WHY do you torment me?" At this I thought, wtf are you talking about? My memory's a bit hazy from here, mostly because the image of his face filled with utmost loathing and cold, cruel eyes toward me blocks most everything else out. His voice was so cold and nasty, Jen. I never imagined he could be like that. A jerk, yes. But it was like he wasn't even HUMAN anymore.
When I asked what he was talking about, he basically said that I was tormenting him by leaving my "Tell everyone I know that works here (like him, Jorge and Jason) I said hello" messages (I thought that was just being NICE. Excuuuuuuuuuuuse me.), that he didn't appreciate it, and he wanted me to leave him alone (wtf had I been doing the past 6 weeks anyway?), and to get out of his life. Oookay. Clearly he hates me now.
So I asked him several times what I'd done wrong to deserve this, and he was evasive. "I don't wish to discuss it." So I said, "Just tell me what it is I did, and I'll walk out that door and never return. Why did you just disappear without even saying goodbye? Why do you hate me all of a sudden?"
"Because of what you ARE."
"And what am I, Nathaniel?"
"I do NOT wish to discuss it." He said that each time I repeated my question. Soon after, I realized I was going to get anything else out of him, so I turned my back on him, called him a coward, and walked out.
Kevin was pretty upset about it. I was happy he at least could stay friends with Nate, because Kev was miserable. But he's bewildered by his reaction to me. I can't blame him.
Like I'd told you previously, what happened last Thursday was not at all unexpected. In fact, I was pretty damn sure that was going to happen anyway, which is why I asked Rollin to tag along with me in case I was too upset to drive. Luckily I was okay on the drive home, but damn, I don't think I've ever been that pissed in my life. I'll also mention that Nate didn't say so much as a word to Rollin, or acknowlege his presence. So what the hell did Rollin do? Christ...
Overall though, I'm fine. It had to happen. There was that last tiny thread still tying me directly to him and it had to be severed.
Anyway, that's about it for this installment. There's more if you're interested. I have a vague idea what I "did" to get him to hate me, but even if I'm right, it still doesn't make much damn sense. Lemme know if you want me to continue, and I'll elaborate. Maybe in a Note or something.

absolutely. please. elaborate. I am very interested as to what you couldve POSSIBLY done to ANYONE to make them hate you that much. I am very glad that you are feeling better about the whole situation. That is definately progress. It makes me wonder how hed react if i went there. bc me and tim happen to shop there every once in a while. hmm... hope i dont run into him.

So I hear, he's been moved into the Pharmacy at his store and changed his availability, so your chances of encountering him are slim, I believe.
