PRACTICE.I liked the idea of a background with intensity... but very calm... so this is what I came up with <3

The first thing I noticed about this piece of work is its calm surroundings. You portrayed this quite well. As another artist, I usually think that dark backgrounds are usually harder to draw. However, I think this came out pretty well.
Another thing I noticed straight away: the ocean waves. Those were really well laid out.

Overall, I think this piece of work really reflected what you wanted it to be: calm and intense at the same time.

Almost looks like an alien planet. That starry sky is AMAZING, I liked the purpley gray color you used in it! And look at that moon! The plant in the water looks so creative and unique, kinda like an octopus. lol

But I think that you should smudge the moon's reflection on the water just a tad to give the water's surface some tension/shape/ripples/whatever. I'm stupid

about 4 or 3 hours, so not that long actually xD when you make backgrounds, it's all a mind trick >:3 so there are many many tricks you could do to set the mood
