I appreciate what you're trying to do, but I'm not sure how useful it is to have references for characters who will rarely resemble them in-story.

How about this perspective:
“I did this for anyone who wants to see my characters, and mainly for me; that’s why I paid to have these done. Gift art is nice, and maybe I want to start drawing again and want a baseline for something I’m working on building.”
No, your perspective is critical and greedy. Five seconds to judge something that took hours upon hours of effort to produce You try making art instead of constantly nit-picking others, we don’t want “armchair coaches”.

Totally a fair point there. I should probably note that your perspective, while more important for rather obvious reasons, was something I didn't have when I posted that comment. However, a five-second snap judgment responded to with same is very likely to get quite heated, with both sides digging in and innocent bystanders shot where they stand. Hell and a half, if you had taken a bit longer you would have noticed that I started with a positive comment, and the negative portion was started with "I'm not sure..." From where I'm standing, that's practically in invitation to share your perspective, and you did. I could do without the attack on my character, but I'm pretty sure I deserve that part too (mostly to even the scales after the number of times I wasn't called out on actual assholery)
TL;DR: My perspective was incomplete, and therefore flawed. Thank you for the correction.

I appreciate that, and I acknowledge I got heated quickly myself. I let the frustration of getting these just right with the artist and had a chain of upload issues, so seeing anything critical about a minute after figuring it out set me off. Thank you for your understanding and respectful response.
