Description As the title translates: To be Deceived by a Fox.

This piccy be for a who has recently developed a love of foxes and kitsune. Go her! This is based loosely on a Japanese tale of a kitsune who (as most kitsune have the ability to do) switches into the form of a beautiful woman to deceive unknowing men. I'm not sure how accurate the story is... having no immediate text to refer to...

Either way, kitsunes are neither malignant or benign, but a separate entity entirely... ^^

... and foxes rock. X3

Ah yes, my favorite type of character. I love stories were ambiguous characters, playing the part of the β€˜bad guys’, are pitted against misguided, misinformed, or just plain stupid (the later being preferable) characters playing the part of the β€˜good guys’. That way if the β€˜bad guys’ win you figure the β€˜good guys’ weren’t very bright and deserved it. Conversely, if the good guys win they end up looking like jerks. That way the β€˜bad guys’ win either way, and it leaves plenty of room for some really good twists while you are trying to figure out which way it’s going to turn out.

I hate the standard good verses evil plot.

LaDemon In reply to def3ctive [2005-11-26 11:02:58 +0000 UTC]

I completely agree with you! Good versus evil very rarely lets you explore both sides of the story, so having a more complicated grey area that does not define the distincitve 'good side' and 'bad side' makes the whole thing more interesting and realistic.

Thank you for your comment.

Good verses evil is too predictable. Not only is it unrealistic, but it’s boring as well. The only things that change from book to book are the characters, the circumstances, and the exact manner in which the β€˜bad guy’ loses.

ps. i thought baka translated into idiot, as we call each other that all the time.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LaDemon In reply to ProfRasah [2005-05-21 23:23:39 +0000 UTC]

Ah... but baka can also mean 'fool' (or idiot) so bakareru is the infinitive of 'to fool'...

Yay, languages! Actually, I can hardly boast being a perfect japanese student, so the translation is probably wrong... I found it in a little phrasebook...

As for the art contest, I shall look into it!

My mind is an interesting place XD.
