Description What have I been doing since ComiPo's bad update call and my files got killed?  I've been playing in RPG Maker MV!

Tiles Used are a combination of RPG Maker MV basic sets, Steampunk MV tiles, Bokou Resource Pack - Steampunk, Trains & FMS town tiles.

I'm mostly just playing around at this point.

OOH OOH OOH! ARE YOU MAKING RPG?! I MAKE RPG TOO! WE BOTH MAKE RPG NOW! THAT NICE!

Though I never thought of posting the maps. I might do that. When I actually make a few. (I mean I think I have 3 or 4 but I'm too busy to be working on this stuff.)

Messing around for 6 years means you know a lot about RPGMaker though.  I am at squares one or two. XD

That's the thing though. I DON'T know a lot about it. Most of my time was spent making rediculous fights that could go on for eternity.

I learnt more last December than I did all those 6 years.

Unfortunately, since most of the plot involves collecting five gemstones, I'm only towards the second one. Then there's also the bonus stuff like suitable stats, items, skills... Guess I better fill more people in on this and finish it.

Two of Five isn't bad.  How long have you been working on it, if I may ask?

A few months I think. Probably since the start of the year. If you play it once it's done, you may notice a few blunders, bugs, typos and all that because I'm still a bit of a noob when it comes to that software. But I did illustrate a lot of the enemies appearances, and there are cutscenes I animated myself.

looks so good! I have rpg maker too, I don't remember what version... I use to play in xp, 2003... I still have the old rtp, I like more the classic style of tiles, I think the one I have is the ace version (bough by steam)

Thank you.  I don't know much about the differences between versions.  I just knew MV was the one recommended to me.

each version has some differences like the tiles, or the battle gameplay, if I remember this good, the 2003 had a battle assets like classics final fantasy with 3 characters with their own animations for attacks, the xp version used the first person style, and the one I have now has a sprites character creator, it's so good.

the differences are pretty simple between versions, I used XP, vx, vx ace and now mv, XP had the biggest graphics from the style, but also the hardest mapping, vx and vx ace made the graphics more chibilike and gave vanilla vehicles, MV then gave a new plugin way to make all of it simpler, made mapping a bit easier, but it is pretty limited in pre-made enemies and characters, also the MV introduced an ingame face-maker and character maker.

That's all differences that come to mind, haven't used 2000 or 2k3 at all.

To go a bit on the map itself, seems like a more renaissance/old modern type of city, or just fantasy setting with a bit more technology, not sure, But I like it.

Thank you for the explanation, Sinister.

Once I figure out how I will be adding some sooty fog, which hopefully will give it more a Victorian feel.  The areas nearby I meant to have more Victorian style manors and then going into brownstones then the slums.  Once completed I am hoping it will feel like an immersive Victorian setting.

Since I never used weather conditions that much-I'm not too keen on them. I do know of a handy plugin for fog though.

I'll just leave it here, victorenginescripts.wordpress.…

Hope that victorian style city will come along and good luck with your work.
