Because I always do what I'm told not to.My journey looks and will always look like that:
I am happy when I draw.
When I 'm sad I draw to be happy.
I seem not to be going anywhere on this journey, just sit calmly and do what I love the most. Different people come trying to change the way I am. They come and go and I remain myself.

i think yours was the best on that entry, i personally felt those who judged the work were biased. its not about a skill its about an idea..i mean, a begginer wouldnt stande a chance, no matter he gives all his heart to it. your ideas is the most interesting.

actually the rules only state that it can not be blocked by traffic not that the road cannot be drawn on

oh yes, rules were pretty broad, not too much limiting, but still somewhat not clear. People like to limit themselves even if no one is limiting them ^.^ I made this work personal sneaking in it a little joke about the fact that I had some doubts myself what all that means ;b

Question:
Isn't doing what you're told not to, still doing something based on what others tell you to do? Meaning your choice to turn left instead of right was because some said not to turn left, not simply because you wanted to go left.
Furthermore it leaves the door open for reverse psychology where they tell you not to something, knowing your response will be to do what they said not to do.

Haha, If you understand it this way
I didn't want to waste words to explain every single situation of myself making a decision. I know my strong and weak points. I know that I am stubborn which is both positive and negative. For 4 years in art school they lowered my grades for, at first drawing manga - because it was supposed to kill my dimensional perception and that I will never be able to draw realistically, then when I started drawing hyper realistically - they said it kills my creativity. Then University. I dropped it twice. Cant say I was right, I just hated being told how to do every single thing that I thought was limiting me. Whatever I did was wrong. I think I wouldn't be drawing now if I did what others told me to. (Other story when my mum banned me from meeting my boyfriend and kicked him away from home when he visited me - I am married to that man now and I am the happiest person in the World 
On the other hand I am stubborn but I am sometimes wrong too, which I don't want to admit. Like literary - when you enter a competition and you break the rules, because you are convinced it will look/work better - you risk getting disqualified, but on the other hand there is a slight chance you will brake the New Ground and create something exceptional.
Whatever someone tells me - I will listen, but will make my own decision.

I see now. I don't understand why people would say Manga kills dimension, if anything the reliance on limited shading and contour lines to define a character should improve those skills, then again it depends on the Manga style.

Yeah, pretty ridiculous that only a few winners actually followed that rule. I mean, shouldn't that disqualify you, not make your chances of winning greater!? :/
Although I do admit, they made the path pretty ugly, practically begging people to change it..

Haha, it's not for me to judge, because it's a competition the organiser can set his own rules and either follow them later or just get amazed by the way people interpreted the theme and turn a blind eye on it
I made the work personal sneaking a little joke in it about the fact that I don't quite understand the rules, haha ;D
