my entry for !HikariYugi-chan 's coloring contest. which was to color in this line art: [link]It was so cute,
I just had to take part. I had alot of fun coloring this in 
I can't say for sure how long it took....but it has TONS of layers *dies* I do know it took over 7 hours. that's at least 7 hours I could have dedicated to one of the many tasks I have to finish, ....my aren't my priorities in ordersure doesn't look that way though...especially with that really poorly thought up Background I threw back there...
I don't really like the cliffs or the tree, but I figure I'll let you guys be the final judges. what do you think I should change and why. I really look forward to seeing what you think

I do like it, and I am pretty happy with how each character came out, so I guess it isn't all bad.Ultimate Chimera frightens me

the ultimate Chimera was so hard to color. pink doesn't really shade well for me so I had to use darker and lighter shades of purple to make the shading on it. it was sort of experimental for me, because I haven't done that digitally before (I use that method for colored pencils though, and thought it might work) it's good to know that it worked out alright, because now I will try it more often with more colors than just yellow and pink.

This is an excellent example of coloring/shading!
Ive seen almost all of your work on DA and Im going to say right now that this one wow'ed me the most with its professionalism. So the background is a tad blurry, SO WHAT!? It brings the characters in the foreground into sharper focus. There doesnt seem to be any misplaced shading (unlike many of my works), the lines are smooth, and the eyes...have I told you how good you are at drawing eyes??
Phew, alright I'll shut up now, just want you to know you did an outstanding job. Keep up the good work! (I know its -alot- to ask, but would you ever consider a tutorial on how you did the breakdown of the coloring, layerwise)

The line art provided was very clean and well done, so I say that most of the reason I tried so hard to make this look good was to do justice to it.

thank you, I tried very hard to make it look good
a lot of really great entries have already been submitted, so I don't think I really stand a chance. Doesn't mater though, because I had a lot of fun coloring this in.
