Description
When I first heard Disney was gonna do a Rapunzel movie, I found a painting of a girl in a field of flowers with super-long, strawberry blond hair. She had green eyes & a dress that looked like the one above. You can see how different & yet similar the final Rapunzel was compared to early ideas Disney had for the girl. It's interesting how different Rapunzel's status in the film was compared to the fairy-tale I grew up with. In the original story, her parents were peasants that happened to live next door to a witch; whereas in the movie she starts out as a baby Princess & was stolen from the King & Queen by the witch.
Later on, in the original story, Rapunzel's visited by a prince that was hunting in the woods & heard her singing. In the Disney version, it's a common thief named Flynn who's running from the law & trying to hide in Rapunzel's tower. Talk about topsy-turvey when it comes to story roles
In the original tale, Rapunzel didn't become a princess until she re-united with the prince, far away from the wicked witch, healed his blindness with her tears, & got married. However, the witch had raised her misbegotten daughter LIKE a princess before sealing her away in the tower.
What really irks me, is how, when Rapunzel's hair was cut (this happened in the original story too), that they went the Mandy Moore route & cut it super-short, & it turns brown b/c the magic in the hair is gone. In the original story, the witch cut Rapunzel's hair as punishment for lying to her, but she cut it in a way that left enough hair to be shoulder- or waist-length, and it stayed blond. Some ppl like Rapunzel's final hairdo in the movie, I don't. Makes you wonder, tho, if it'll remain that way permanently, or if it'll be like normal hair & grow back

I've got something to pitch in- remember the ending part when Rapunzel cries over Flynn/Eugene's body and her one tear drops onto his forehead and brings him back to life? That leads me to believe that if she still has magic inside her, then maybe her hair will grow back and its magical abilities will also be restored.
Just a thought.

Yeah, that's something of a plot hole they never addressed in the film. Heck, the only reason the story-writers kept the magical tears in at all was because in the original fairy-tale, Rapunzel healed the prince's blinded eyes with her tears. To have it all in her hair, then to lose it, and yet still have magical healing tears makes no sense, whatsoever. Also, how does healing magic translate to reversing the aging process? It's one thing to take away whatever age-related illnesses or conditions Mother Gothel would have had, but to age her backwards to her prime would have required an entirely different spell altogether.
Even at the Disney parks, whenever an actress appears dressed as Rapunzel to take pictures with people, she appears with the signature long blond hair. When people ask how she got her long hair back, the actress has been prepared with this answer: "I found enough magic in my tears to make it grow back." Or something along those lines . Plus, they never explained why her hair wouldn't grow back after being cut. I'd understand the brown part. Both her parents had brown hair, and without the magic flower, she would have been a brownette too. But for it never to grow back when cut? Makes no sense to me. Heck, I even posted a doll on here addressing this idea.

In the original story, there was no big magic in the rampion Rapunzel's dad stole for her mom, so Rapunzel was a natural blonde, while in the movie, she was from a long line of brunettes(there's a tiny glimpse of royal family portrait long the hall of the castle), but the magic of the flower made her blonde. And, the way Flynn and Rapunzel were lying, it'd be a little hard to cut the hair to shoulder or waist length and make it look like a kiss. I think Disney's official stance on the movie is her hair won't grow, but for her disney walkabout, that there was a tiny about of magic left that made her hair grow back blonde.

I get the picture, but do us all a favor and learn how to type proper grammar. That includes no run-on sentences.

Sorry, but give me some slack, I'm still in high school. They haven't taught how to type grammar yet.

Oh it's easy! All you need is a paint program (you can use the 1 in ur computer, or download 1 for free), and the PrtSc/Sys Rq button. You can find it just to the rt of ur F12 key.
1.) You press the button above, & it copies the whole screen like a screenshot. You then paste it into a paint program.
2.) You then use the rectangular "select" button & draw a rectangle over the doll. You then cut it out, & paste it as a new image, so you only have the doll. Then you can save it in a picture file. I got 1 for "Disney Heroines" in my "Online Dolls" folder
I'm afraid only a few games on Doll-Divine have the ability to let u save ur dolls, but that nvr stopped me

You're welcome . It's 1 of several. I usually make dolls with
- The Tudors scene-maker
- Game of Thrones scene-maker
- Sari-maker
- The Roman Lady Game
- Heroine Fan-Art game
- Tinkerbell Dress-up
- Fantasy Girl game
Once in a while I'll create characters using other fun games Azalea & Doll-Divine include on their sites, like Rinmaru games, the Viking-maker, fantasy horse, Rapunzel, The Elements, etc. Before I came across Azalea & Doll-Divine I had a thing for Roiworld games .

I am working on figureing this out right now. I see my prt sc button but I do not have a button above it.
Awesome. So, do you take request?
I just made Pepper Potts from Iron Man 1 and 2, and The Avengers. I am to make a bunch of the Marvel woman but it is so hard to do so with working with what little you have. I just hope what I made looks like Pepper.

You got the rt button. Prt Scrn is what will take the screenshot. I normally use an older paint program called Microsoft Photo Editor, tho I also sometimes use the Paint program that came w/ my Windows 7. I'm still learning how to use that at times, but it's getting better.
Sure I take requests. So far I've done 2 for a nice friend named QTcomics . What did u have in mind?
Pepper Potts is fun. She's probably the only woman who would put up with Tony Stark's antics. I'm surprised the 2 of them aren't married yet. They certainly act like a married couple .

O.K. Thanks. (Ton's more )
Sif from the movie 'Thor'.
Yeah, I coulld never put up with Tony Stark even if he is a hot rich superhero (an avenger superhero at that.lol.)
I am totally obsessed with The Avengers and other Marvel movies, mostly The Avengers and Thor though.

The reasons above, of course, is why its only an adaptation, not a re-creation. They had to change it to 'disney-fy' it. I think, for a disney adaptation though, its not that bad

I didn't mind Disney's changes. It's just amusing that they changed her social statues to beginning as a princess, whereas in the original fairy-tale, she had to marry the prince to become a princess. Which brings about another interesting inversion. In the movie, Flynn's a thief & a commoner .
