It'd be something along the lines of somebody having a first conversation with 'said sollux' and being rather curious about his physical features, and it definitely would have been heard around by others that he has a forked tongue. Sollux, probably having been asked that a 'million' times by then, would casually and perhaps even with sarcastic undertones crack a joke about it being 'split' down the middle, and then showing whoever he's talking to his forked tongue. Ya know? Hehe, I really watered down that explanation, but that's basically what I was thinking.
