Finding the name of this plant took me on a bit of an adventure! So this tree is a variety of Japanese cherry tree called "kikuzakura", which translates to "chrysanthemum cherry blossom", and I'm sure you can see why.These flowers are classified as 'double blossoms' which just means that a particular variety has extra petals (in this case, cherry blossoms have the standard 5, but the 'double blossom' varieties can have over 30 petals).
