A true extrovert, he gets a lot of energy being with people. He will always come off as a cheerful person to the point of questioning if he takes anything seriously. He really can’t help but joke around and be playful in his own way. (which would include alot of puns) His desire to be a good friend might led him to come off a bit annoying to others that do not see his good intention when he continuously comes around.
Despite being a summer camper for two years, he is still insecure over his friendships he has made and any progress in fighting. The feeling of uneasiness leads him to desire to play around rather than train hard. Of course he would reluctantly do it if he was asked to spare, playing off as a big joke to avoid looking the way he feels. This is also true when dealing with negative feelings. Relying on wit and humor (even bad humor) to shy away of hurt feelings.
As far as dealing with friendships over all, he enjoys people and isn't scared to try and make of connection. (the fear is only if he has tried hard enough) He wouldn't avoid helping others if they seems down, trying to cheer people always seems like a good boost for both parties involved. In the large city of Porto Alegre, Rigo lived happily with his father. His father started a small bakery just as his son was dropped on his doorstep and it only seems to grow with each passing year. It was just the two of them for a while but Rigo didn't mind. As a young boy with a very laid back father, he was allowed to go out and explore the city. He would disappear in the morning to play with the local children and hurry back before dark. His father would be waiting with a quick dinner, the most he can manage as he devoted more of his time to his business. They both didn't spend countless hours together but they were close.
Just as Rigo started school, his father married a rather harsh and paranoid woman by the name Camilla. She was kind but it was hard to see when she criticized their living style. She didn't approve of Rigo’s interest, playing cards in alleys and never home to study. She was continuously frustrated over her stepson’s low scores in school. He didn't mean to cause her trouble but he couldn't help his personality. He tried to defend himself but wasn't good with conflict and neither was his father which is why he stepped in and told his family the truth about Rigo’s mother. (Hoping it would explain any misunderstandings in his family) After a long talk, the family had a very strained feeling of peace.The news leaving Rigo ecstatic with a new found sense of pride and Camilla with a heavy feeling of horror.
By the time Rigo was ten, he had gotten use to the way his new family functioned. He now had two twin sisters and a baby brother. He enjoyed playing with them around the house. He was still trying to keep peace with his step mother, who was now very distant to him. He pretended not to notice her paranoid eyes every time he played with his siblings as if she expected them to be hurt. The only time she got close would be when she forced him to sit down as she tutored him herself. Heavily focusing on improving his English.
Outside of home, he felt more confident knowing things seem to workout in small forgettable ways. Simple things like finding spare change and running late but still catching the bus. He didn't change much when he found out he was a demigod or try to push his luck simply over the fear his step mother would completely shut him out. The only exemptions would be when he tried to make friends. Winning them over by getting them things in games of chance.
Some months after his 11 birthday, he felt as if he was constantly being followed. He didn't complain right away, considering the activities he engaged in when he was out. It was about time he ran into some really bad luck with bullies. He finally told his step mother the truth the day the kid who was following him finally gave chased. So scared, he never looked back but judging by the shadow that kid cast, he was /really/ big. He only managed to escaped after some of the stacked crates he ran by conveniently broke down behind him. Once he finished his story, he noticed the pure look of fear on his step mom's face.
Once again his father had to clear more things up but this time, the information was new only to Rigo. Apparently there was more to being a demigod. He couldn't live a normal life and he was advised early on of the risk. His father had a difficult time telling his son that he would have to go somewhere special to stay safe…. and it was not close to home. Everything becoming clear, Rigo was hurt to learn that his step mother only cared about him learning English because she also knew he had to go to America. They had it all planned but surprised to hear it was happening so early. His father was told they would still have a few years but he can't always be that lucky.
They tired to work it out, having him leave only for summer camp. He could bare it but it was obvious now that Camilla was uncomfortable around him. She was too superstitious that he would bring her bad luck. That was the problem this whole time and he couldn't fix it. She only felt better far away from her. It hurt him to not be able to enjoy time with his family but it hurt worse when he was blamed for his step mother’s miscarriage after coming back from his second year at camp. Her accusation that Rigo's real witch mother wished this bad luck on her because she married into the family was relentless. The family was falling apart and Rigo could see the pain in his father eyes as he tried to explain to his son that he had no choice but to send him to camp full time. Rigoberto didn't fight it and agreed to go as long as he could visit.

TL;DR // Raised with a super laid back dad. Both were so optimistic and chill that they got along great. He married a harsh lady that gave them both alot of crap about how they live and tired to fix them up. Pablo (father) told the family who Rigo’s real mom was and they both freaked just in different ways. Rigo was all like ‘ AH YEAH’ and his step mom was all like ‘ AH NO”. When he 11 he runs into a monster which he thinks some punk ass kid and while he was happy to get away- His step mom was like ‘FUCK’ and told his dad. He had to go to camp and ‘CONVENIENTLY’ /side eyes Camilla// his step mom was drilling him with English so he can fly to camp half blood. He was cool with being a summer only camper but here comes his step mom AGAIN and starts accusing him of being the reason she had a miscarriage. Being irrational, she wanted him far away from /her/ family and poor dad had no choice but to send his son away as a full time camper. Rigo was like fine cause he loved his family and didn't want it to break apart because of him. BTW he can’t stand the guilt his step mom is putting on him so byee Brazil and hello … camp.
