Description The painting on another of the pillars in the lower level of Queen Nefertari's tomb. My guess is that this pillar was painted by an apprentice, while the other pillar was painted by a master. For one thing, it was a lot sloppier. In addition the images on the Cartouche at the top aren't in the same order as found pretty much everywhere in the Tomb. Also the Was Sceptres on either side are supposed to extend all the way up to the symbol for Sky or Heaven, but they stop at the top of the Djed Pillar instead. Finally the last indicator is the pattern of colors on the pillar itself. One of the most common color patterns is Blue-Red-Blue-Green and then it repeats all over again. This pillar is almost correctly following that, except that the bands below the broad gold band have an extra blue and an extra green band. You can also see marks as if the Master drew in part of the pattern for the apprentice before he returned to working on his pillar, while allowing the apprentice to work on his own. I have to wonder if he got a bad grade when he was finished.
