This is a quick progress picture of my newest painting.

The subject is Finn from Abney Park. The picture on the left is what I based the basic drawing from.

She looks a lot different from the picture, but I'm doing this as a character portrait rather than a realism painting, or as a photo-manip.

Note that I've been experimenting with brush techniques to get the skin tones to look more realistic. For once the hair is painted properly, not using my super-special normal technique.

What's left to do is a lot of work on the body, and some of the stronger shadows and highlights for mood, and so that it doesn't look so glamour portrait like.
