Neva has a large, scratched scar on her left cheek that runs down her mouth and neck. It was made to her by the same men who killed her mother. (some say that this scar resembles a star).

Few people know this, but Neva has small gills located on the back of her neck (hidden by the hair that she almost always keeps loose) that allow her to breathe even underwater. (this is a trait inherited from his mother's alien side).

Neva's Personal Life

Occupation/Job:

owner and bartender in a bar in Knowhere. (inherited from the mother).

Parents:

- Anara (mother, 1/2 alien, dead.)
Neva's mother was a very strong woman. Only half human, she had inherited many characteristics from the half alien part in her. Her hair was completely blue, her skin tended to turquoise, her eyes purple. Her blood was pale blue, she too, like Neva, had blue nails and gills behind her neck. (the alien race from which she descends lives on a planet almost completely covered with water).

She died when Neva was 10, killed in a brawl between rival factions inside her bar.

- Nathaniel (father, human).
Neva never met her father. She only knows that he is a human and that he probably lives somewhere on earth. She doesn't know if he's still alive or not.

Relationship:

- Yondu Udonta
Yondu is Neva's first true love.
She has always tried to keep her distance from men, especially from those who frequent her bar (who are usually thieves, rogues or worse).

Even with Yondu at the beginning she did the same (he is a Ravager after all) even if that strangely blue skin of his has always attracted her in an unusual way.

Their love is very intense and passionate.

- Kraglin Obfonteri (after Yondu's death.)
Kraglin fell in love with Neva almost from the moment he saw her at the bar and spoke to her. However, he never had the courage to reveal his feelings to her, due to his strong loyalty to Captain Yondu and because he was too shy to do so. He therefore always kept his distance, trying to hide what he felt for her, always remaining just a friend to Neva.

When Yondu dies, Kraglin returns to the bar from Neva and it is he who brings her the bad news that the captain is dead. He also finds the courage to tell her what he has always felt for her.

Since then, a very strong bond begins to develop between him and Neva. Kraglin helps Neva overcome the loss of Yondu and she helps Kraglin in the same way (he has also lost all the friends he had among the Ravagers).

Their relationship is based on mutual trust.
Kraglin is always very kind to Neva, even if he is always a little awkward.

Estelle was left in the bar owned by Neva at age 12. (Neva was 18 years old.)
Sometimes she goes to work with Neva at the bar, helping her manage customers and keep the place tidy.
A very sensitive girl, Estelle is one of the first (and one of the few) who realizes that Kraglin has a crush on Neva, but she doesn't tell her friend, because kraglin asks her to keep the secret.

Neva first meets Ava when she and Rocket arrive at her bar looking for a job as bounty hunters.

At first Neva doesn't know whether to trust her particularly, but then she realizes that Ava is a very similar person to her. (Somehow Neva also feels lonely and different from the others.).

Even though Ava has strange habits at times, Neva never judges her. she simply accepts her for who she is and admires her strength and courage.

- Peter Quill:
Peter passed by Neva's bar a few times. He also once tried to flirt with her (earning a punch in the face). Neva tends to treat him as if he were a much younger boy than her.

- Some of the Ravagers:
That is, the same friends as Kraglin.

Affiliations: none at the beginning / Ravagers / Guardians of the Galaxy (for a short time, along with Kraglin).

Personality:

- Strong and independent: Almost always. (Or at least that's how she wants to appear to others).

- Insecure: although she is always determined and combative, in reality Neva is a fairly insecure woman inside herself, especially because of the large scars that scar the left side of her face. She often feels ugly on the outside and that makes her feel bad.

- Flirting: Sometimes she tends to flirt with men. but only with those she really likes. (above all she does it with Yondu, and above all she does it when she is drunk).

Ever since her mother was killed, Neva has always had to stand up for herself. Over time she has learned to behave decisively, without ever showing herself weak. She also learned to fight with bare hands and with the dagger.

To protect the bar inherited from her mother, Neva has always been cold and tougher than she really is. She has never let her guard down even for a moment, because with the patrons of her bar she can't afford to show herself weak or even a little scared. - In addition to the bar on Knowhere Neva has also inherited from her mother a necklace with a pendant that hides the map inside to find an ancient treasure lost somewhere in the galaxy. (this is one of the reasons why Yondu takes an interest in Neva).

- Only Neva can decipher the coordinates enclosed in the pendant, because they are written in the language of the alien people from which she descends in small part. (even if she is only 1/3 alien she learned the language of this people thanks to her mother).

- Neva is a skilled swimmer and can stay underwater for a long time without having to go back to the surface to breathe.
