Description
Felt like drawing Galadriel and Frodo while waiting to watch the second disc of βFellowship' last week...
I find it amusing that Galadriel is Arwen's grandma--she looks good for an old lady! lol

Awww! Frodo looks so nervous here! I love the way you've shaded the folds of Galadriel's robes here and her hair is gorgeous! Good to find another LOTR fan!

Thank you!Β Galadriel is such a powerful lady, I thought it would be appropriate to show Frodo--being a Hobbit who hasn't seen much thus far in the story--a little nervous at talking to her.
I'm an unashamed LOTR nerd!Β I just love all the characters and the rich history Tolkien put into building Middle-earth. Β I've read The Silmarillion three times and have come to appreciate how it sets up the events in the LOTR trilogy even more!

Nice! Is this one hand colored? I like the way it has an illustration feel with the simple but catchy background. Galadriel's hairdo looks nice too.

Thank you, and yep!Β I used Copics and Prismacolor Premier markers for this (the latter of which are actually good quality).
Thanks!Β I wanted to make the background a little more abstract to focus on the characters.

Again! This is sooooooooooo beautiful! I love your ink job as well as making Frodo look so small and innocent. Galadriel look so regal. Gorgeous work!!!Β

Thank you so much!Β I was trying to capture a bit of the actors with a little of my own interpretation of the characters. Β I'm trying to practice my inks more since I'll be doing that with the comic from now on (black lines, no colored lineart), and I'm thinking of drawing the lineart for the covers of each chapter traditionally so I can keep from getting rusty! lol

Awww I love the size difference between them, it makes Galadriel look even more majestic and Frodo even cuter!

I love good Lord of the Rings art! You did a great job on this one, you need to draw Boromir.

Aw he's so tiny! I love her hair, it is quite majestic, and the simple background is pretty too, it looks like trailing fronds in a secluded glen

Thank you!Β I had a lot of trouble with his height and trying not to make him look squished. ;^^Β The background gave me a chance to finally use my green copics!

Lol 'too squished', hobbits are tiny so I guess it wouldn't matter that much.
Green is sadly one of those colours they give you a lot of, but one never has anything to use it on!

He came out looking more like a "Thirdling" than a "Halfling!"
That's what I've found happens to me with all the bright colors!Β I tend to use a lot of earthy colors in my pictures--I think the various different kinds of blues are the only "bright" colors I use often.
