OMG, *PERFECT* casting choice!! Love it! The only other actor I've ever considered is Brendan Fehr, the guy who played Michael Guerin on the show Roswell. (link here: s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/2… & img.poptower.com/pic-117093/br… )

Fillion's great, but I don't know how well he could pull off the paladin character type. He's just too funny and wisecracking to be the solemn defender of righteousness. Me, I see Michael as more of a Liam Neeson character. Just listen to him in Fallout 3 and tell me you can't see and hear it.
