Description
Holy Hell! I've uploaded something!!!!Yeah, it's been that long.
It's a sketch of a hippogriff designed my way, it's a big mess, but that's how my ideas usually start out. As a big mess.
I wanted to make the tail different (as well as a couple other minor things), so I made it more rooster like than the horsey type (although, I wonder if it would still classify as a hippogriff? Who knows.)
the "RAWK!" added for stupidity purposes.

Rough sketches are sometimes the best way to see true art. You can almost hear the thoughts going into it. Besides sketching is fun! I think the Rooster tail is a great noval idea. I think it would still count as a hippogriff.

I like your design for the toes. It reminds me of the feet of proto-horses, crossed with an eagle.

Thanks
I was aiming for continuation of the "bird theme" while still retaining the equine look (especially in the back feet). I remembered something about three-toed horses and figured I should try it.
I ended up using a pic of foot bones for reference, but I lost the link. (although I should have mentioned that on the description, sorry ) I think it was on flickr or something.

I think it works pretty well. I've never seen a design like that before. Frankly, I never wanted to draw a griffon/hippogryph (with eagle legs on a 4-legged animal body) because the proportions of an eagle's leg is really different from a horse's, and it makes it look like it bends in a totally different way. I never knew which way to make the leg bend.
