Hrm... No title, semi-lousy scan. I'll be placing this one into scraps after I get a better B&W.The bottom of her dress looks crappy because I didn't use a ref *headdesk* Whenever I color it I'll make the folds more realistic, I promise!
Thoughtful titles and background suggestions will be taken into consideration. Nothing outlandish please (wrack your brains folks ^_^).

i had no idea how cool this character looked from the messageboard! you have to get into full view to see all the details. The folds look great right now.. and.. I'm not sure if its hair .. or clothes.. or exactly yet.. cause the lines are light.. but.. i love the character and outfit design! plus the weapon and overall composition rocks.
hurry and finish this one!

You should keep the idea for the stairs (stairs of AWESOMENESS- now, mind you) like awesome goth stairs- or atleast stoney looking ones or maybe like great wall of china-ish... only in Japan... and have like a rainy/lighteningy/battley/outdoorsy/nighty bg with awesome rain and fog... like after a battle.... in the rain.....of awesomeness......grrr.....maybe with a little bloodspray......or not..... (excuse the overexcitement)...............of awesomeness................ or you could do the whole cherry leaves thing..... its your pic after all.....teehee.......... ^_^ As for the title... Maiden of...... AWESOMENESS (to the max!!!)......... (sorry, sorry) ^_^'

She seems like she would be in a temple, except for the giant halberd(ish) weapon. A dojo, maybe?
As for the title, you could try something simple, like, "Maiden of the Dojo(or wherever you choose to put her)" or just give her (and this piece) a name.
Of course, if you know where she's going to be, you can tell me and I'll try to come up with a more evocative name.

"Maiden of _____" Hrm... I might be able to use that, especially since I pretty-much never use the word 'maiden' for my picture titles.
Right now, I'm contemplating a background that's somewhat abstract-ish/ sci-fi/ fantasy/ blargh... I dunno.

This picture doesn't seem to be some futuristic sci-fi--no nano-tech armor, flying spaceships, or laser guns, anyway. Not that those can't be added in, but the flowing robes and the simple weapon give more of a fantasy feel.
However, the pose itself seems more of contemplation than anything else, so an abstract background might work fairly well. Is there any particular mood you'd like this to have?

I agree, she's got a more fantasy feel to her.
The mood I'm really trying to capture is rather peaceful (which I think everyone here agrees on), and not as violent as she looks.

If you want a peaceful mood, a natural environment, probably with plenty of green, would most likely be best. Meadow? Forest? Maybe a garden? By a river? A Shrine in the woods?

BG suggestions..... the long dress would look really cool draped down a set of stairs, and maybe some greek style pillars in the background.
Or maybe and outdoor environment. standing on a rock with trees in the BG.
Or...super difficult but potentially cool, a medievil marketplace lookin area.
No idea for titles, though *stares blankly*

Yosh! I usually work really hard on my hands, so I'm glad you noticed!! And I know the folds on her... sleeve... thing are good, but I'm complaining about the bottom of her dress... *pickpickpick*
Anywho... KMas, you've read my mind! I'll definitely add stairs to the finished image now
