What would happen if Turians (Mass Effect) and Cardassians (Star Trek) met one day? Probably nothing good. Any suggestions?Related content

Probably wouldn't be as disastrous as a meeting between the Krogan and the Klingon.

I don't know, I think the Krogan and Klingons would hit it off Β rather well given how Β they both are from cultures that revere bravery, war, honor and a good fight.Β

Wrex would probably want a bat'leth.

That's funny, I always thought that the Turians were more relatable to the Romulans, considering that they are are hardheaded in keeping order and have a pragmatic outlook on life. Then again, Turians are more stalwart while the Romulans rely more on guile and cunning.
Sorry for imposing my Trekkie knowledge on you...

Sorry for the (very) late reply and thank you for imposing your Trekkie knowledge on me ; ). It wasnβt however my point to show that Cardassians and Turians are counterparts in each universe.
I have always thought that Romulans are a bit silly and pompous. To me, they are arrogant without limit or reason and their biggest pride, meaning their security is a big, majestic but very thin balloon that could be pierced by⦠basically everyone who wanted to.
On the other hand, Cardassians are expansive, ruthless and strive to take advantage of everything that moves. They want to think that theyβre patriots and that they worship family values, but what they actually do often leads to the most auto-destructive acts in the ST universe. In other words, they are very Human β not ST, but real life Human.
And that leaves Turians, who in my opinion are the most coherent race of the three. They are proud, but theyβve actually got something to be proud of. They may want to sacrifice themselves for the public service but have no problems collaborating with the Volus.
The reason I put Turians and Cardassians together was because I started to think how they could interact. They seem to have the same values but what they do is a completely different story.

I'm sure they'd be the best of friends. But overall nice work! Hope you can do more STxME crossover fanart!

I quite like Turians whereas I always find Cardassians mildly creepy... that probably me being racist (or would it be xenophobic? hmmm) or something lol. Or maybe because one tortured Picard... which I couldn't see Turians doing because it would break their laws...
But awesome work anyway

I don't think it's racism. I think it's more how most Cadassians rarely stop acting civilized, if you get what I'm saying. A Cardassian tends to keep up his affable persona, even while committing horrible atrocities. Even Garak, while quite charming and friendly, had no qualms with kidnapping, torture, lying (Lots of lying), and even murder, if it was for a good cause.

Yeah... if you're going to be a violent sadist, you shouldn't be pleasant while you do it lol Turians have higher moral standings whereas cardasians have the appearance of morals that never really appear lol

The funny thing is, technologically, the Cardies are some of the lowest on the post-warp spectrum, but they're so ruthless and efficient that they're still a threat. I mean, because of them, Bajor lost their right to join the Federation because all their tech was destroyed by the Cardassians. And Dukat STILL thought he was helping them.

Dude, you are truly a trekkie and i commend you lol, but yeah, the Cardassians are (sorta) living proof that it's not tech that wins the battle lol

Thank you : ) I also find Cardassians creepy, but I like them because of that, so no racism in here XD. When it comes to is it xenophobia or racism question, than, if dislike only a couple of species, you are racist, if you dislike all of them, then you are xenophobic ; )

Iβd probably avoid Ferengi as well (just for my own good). I do however find Quark particularly huggable ; ). But heβs just an exception ; )

You wonβt regret it : ) And, if I may suggest, donβt start with TOS or Enterprise (theyβre pretty bad even if you are a fan ; )), but with TNG, DS9 (my personal favourite) or Voyager.

The new movie is fun, but to me itβs not a real Trek ; ). The Wrath of Khan is probably the best of the old bunch. TNG and VOY are really nice procedurals. But its DS9 (and itβs only my opinion) that has the best characters β especially some recurring ones and the best plot.

*has to sit and stew on that one for a bit* Potentially. Seeing as they're both synthetic races and out for domination over all organic races....that would be a scary combo.

oh yes, it would all be perfect
we decided that Klingons evolved from Krogans, because there's the one episode of TNG where everyone devolves and Worf becomes some sort of space rhino creature... it's the only explanation! He became a Krogan!

Yep, they're completly alike^^
I would bet my money on the Cardassian. They got more military drill during their live and are more efficient.
I really would prefer an Cardassian instead of Garrus.

Replace Garrus with Garaak and I'm happy^^
Wathcing DS9 for the first time and I'm happy about every episode with Garaak.
Ex-Cardassian-Secret-Service-and-now-exiled-taylor FTW!!
Side note:
Ferengi and Volus are alike too. Just saying^^

Nah, Garrus is awesome on the Normandy and Garak is awesome on DS9. They are both great, but I wouldnβt swap them. On the station Garrus and Odo would be at each otherβs throats and Femshep wouldnβt have so much fun with Garak ; )

If you say so. I would say FemShep can handle him^^
I just like Garak's behaviour. For example in one episode (I believe the original title is "Trapped") he comments Gul Dukat's chat with Kira with
"Dukat that's disgusting! Mayor Kira will not fall to your charme and on top of that you're married!" or something like this.
I just like this guy^^
Garrus vs Odo. I even would pay to see that.
Quark: "Ladies and Gentlemen! Tonight only at 'Quarks'! An extreme bloody and violent fight between our well known security chief Odo and his steel skinned opponent from an parallel universe. Garrus Vakarian! Who will win! Bet's are open!"
Basicly you're right but I still like Cardassians more then Turians. They simply seem nicer.

Mass Effect is a game that I could recommend to any ST fan. Its universe is very complex, characters are never (ok, with one or two exceptions ; )) only black or only white and the story is truly unique. Besides Turians themselves are a really nice reason to play it ; ) As Schwarzer-Tod noticed Turians do resemble Cardassians in many ways. And thatβs why theyβre here together ^^
