The problem for Lily wasn't only that he called her that. It wasn't the fact that it was "one comment", but the context and meaning behind it.
Later, Harry sees that Snape tried to apologize and Lily asked why it was different with her, since he called other muggleborns that way. He already hanged with people who turned into Death Eaters and when Lily accused him of wanting to join Voldermort, she said that he couldn't even deny it.
So, it wasn't so much as the name calling as more as a realization of how different their beliefs were. While this may not be an issue, in this case we're talking about a belief that muggles and muggleborns are scum that aren't even humans and that's okay to kill them. How could she be friends with Snape then? So much that she said he had chose his path and she had chosen hers.
So it wasn't the comment. It wasn't the name calling. It was a last straw that made her see that they really couldn't be friends. They had talked about this earlier, when she mentioned she didn't like the people he hanged out with (practice of black magic and mentioned that one of them had done something to a girl she knew), so this was already an issue.

It should be noted that throughout this entire scene, Lily is only lecturing James despite the fact that Sirius is being just as bad.
Which only goes to show that, even though she wouldn't admit it at the time, Lily even now has a crush on James.

I think it's odd how everyone "Hates Snape/Severus here.".
Lilly is supposed to be his friend. He makes ONE comment on something, yes, it's rude, but it's ONE comment, and she suddenly joins in and bullies him too. That's not something real friends do. I'm disgusted by her actions. She's an awful excuse for a friend.

While that is true, and she has all the right to be mad at him about it, I still don't think it justifies her actions.

She has the right to be mad at him yes, but as you say, she shouldn't have suddenly stopped being his friend for one thing. A good friend should've stayed with their friend and look past their mistakes.
Indeed... I woulda probably been angry if I was called that (if I was a wizard, which I am not, and that is kind of sad XD), even more if it was by a friend

Ah, I thank you for this. I read the article, and it has slightly altered my opinions. I'm still not very fond of Lily's actions in this particular scene, but I can see it's not just black and white here.
I'm not going to join said discussion, for I'm not certain about all the extends of my own opinion yet.
