In monotone hues, the common man views life,
A prisoner of routine, devoid of strife.
No colors dance before his eyes,
Just black and white, a dull disguise.

His days are filled with drudgery and toil,
No time for joy, no room for soil.
The world outside is grey and bleak,
A reflection of his heart, meek.

He cannot see the beauty in between,
The colors that bring life serene.
Red roses blooming, green fields stretch far,
Blue skies and sunsets, a distant star.

His mind is closed, his thoughts confined,
A slave to habit, bound and defined.
No room for dreams, no space for flight,
A life of duty, void of delight.

But still he trudges on, day after day,
A robotic existence, no reprieve.
No colors to inspire, no hue to guide,
