Azula felt her temper flare again. This time, she didn't even try to suppress her anger; her hands clenched into tight fists as she prepared to hurl fireballs as she has always done.
She felt the familiar flames lick through her fingers...but this time, they were more eager, hungry, destructive. They felt different.

Azula held her hand up to face level and stared wonderingly at the vivid blue flames. Blue sparks flew out and threatened to singe her hair and face, but Azula ignored them. She was fascinated by the bright core of energy that grew like magic in the center of her palm.

I don't exactly know when Azula learned firebending, but if she's already a prodigy at age 16, then I'm going to assume she learned really young. However, the series never mentioned when she learned to bend blue fire...did that come later, after learning "normal" bending, or were her flames always that color? I decided to go with the former, in which Azula is consumed with so much anger that her flames turned blue, instead of the trademark red and orange.

I'm especially proud of capturing her facial expression...I was going for a mix of wonder, fascination, surprise, and obsession. Not to mention the foreshortening was a complete pain, but I'm happy with the way it turned out. Hope you guys enjoy!
