Well actually...this one and last one were both made in Softimage XSI (that's what I use.....but you can do the same in Max). Actually I spent quie a lot of time to try to do the spirales from the collumn...but it turn out to be quite easy....it's an extude along a curve (a spiral curve) then it's modified to get the right shape...and the other pieces are rather simple to do. The trick there is that it's one boject but it's several pieces....since We don't see the collumns from the top...it's useless to try to make it all connected and it would just require way too many edges....so the trick is to have good references and dop every piece seperatly (there is also lots of repetitons)

Wow! Man, you have some skills!! Softimage too? Nice! --- See, I was trying to do those columns the "easy way" (I thought! ) ...which turned out a mess!
I will try to follow up with that project and try a few different approaches, we'll see what happens!

You're not!! It's always appreciated! and hey......do think I got it right the first time...I had to try several times and scrap hours of work and try again. Just don't give up.
