Description
Xian, China. The Terracotta Warriors. There are more than 8000 of them, average height 190 cm, each has a unique face.
About a thousand years ago, a new Emperor called Xiang Yu gave an order to his army to invade into the Terracotta tomb and destroy everything there. He was an ambitious and envious guy, that Xiang Yu. So his army raided the tomb, took all the weapons that was held by the warriors and burned down the place. Everything that you can see nowadays has been restored piece by piece, starting from 1976. Originally, just like ancient Greek statues, the warriors were colored to look like humans. But now, due to the raids and the time, you only can see the base color of the figures.

It almost gives me chills how life like these Terracotta warriors are. Almost as if they will spring to life!

The feeling is more intense when you're there. When I watched them I thought that at night when noboy's there they surely start to party there.

I don't know if this true or not, but when that statues was first found back in 1970's the statues still have color on it. But the way of the chinese archaeologist handle the statues made the color gone.
Anyway nice work.
