Description
Here's a link to my latest animation [link]Please watch comment and like it ^_^
----------------------
Little miss Slowpoke finally got her film online
This was the film I created for my second year at Uni and I think I worked on it for about 4-5 months all together (correct me if I'm wrong uni dudes). Its all traditionally animated, i.e. drawn on paper and then scanned into a computer to colour, with backgrounds done in Photoshop
Itβs based on a deviation I did last summer [link] You can see the style changed a lot but I would have had to have been some kind of crazy person to try and animate it to the detail of the initial design XD
It was seriously hard work to do but well worth it for the feeling of finishing it. Plus it got nominated for best 2D at my Universities end of year show which was pretty sweet
Now I've got to repeat the whole process this year XD Bai bai sleep

o __ o;; Ohmigosh.
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOMELY AMAZING!!
Like, seriously, I want to become an animator when I get older and I always wanted to traditionally animate ... You inspire me in many ways, and you totally have a whole load of talent! *idolizes you* This may have taken a long time, but it was definitely worth it! The idea is so cute, as well as all the cartoony actions and goofs. >w< And the animation is so ... SMOOTH! Like wow, you should be a professional animator one day. o-o
(I never knew Universities taught animation though! O.o)
Is it ... difficult to traditionally animate? >///< Because wouldn't it be hard to perfect everything and make everything flow nicely? I'm just curious cause I always wandered how they succeeded ...
Congrats for being nominated as the best 2D animator in your Universtiy! I can see why they nominated you, and you deserve it. ^ __ ^
This is a must-fave! Hope to see another animation from you in a few months or so, and keep up the amazing work~!! ^-^ *faves*

Thank you very much
I'm really happy to know the film inspired you. I'd love to be a professional animator, though the jobs are pretty scarce (in the UK anyway) so I'll probably end up doing something like story boarding or concept design.
Traditional animation is quite hard. It takes alot of time and effort so I think you have to be quite a patient person to do it. You also have to love drawing because you do a hell of alot of it XD Its a very satisfying art though. Seeing your animation finished after doing all that work is such an amazing feeling!
To get things flowing properly you "key out" the animation first, which means you draw all the main poses that take place in the scene. You then put those 2 frames on top of each other, on a light box, which allows you to trace the movement that will happen between those 2 poses. Thats called "in-betweening". Its pretty hard to explain but I hope that gives you the gist of it You have to keep filming what you've drawn so far on a line tester just to make sure the animation is working out how you want it to look.
I'll have another film or show reel up this time next year so I hope it can live up to this one
