A 16-second animation I did for an assignment in my 2D class... I may have just been indulging myself a little, haha... (well, you can blame ~Devonition for suggesting it, too! DX) (But, thank you too for the redline, man you're the best Devo ;-; ;-; ;-; )But gosh, I had a lot of fun (and also frustration) with this! It was more like animating 20 seconds in 20 hours since I had to go back and re-do the falling scene with the buildings--I'm still not happy with that scene, but for now that's really the best that I've got... Everything from there on out was pretty rushed to be honest, so sorry about that. I am rather fond of the first half, though... u_u
Anyway, it was really fun to pick up animation again after so long, I gotta do this more often, hahah (but hopefully with fewer damn cityscapes with changing perspectives, I'm really getting kind of tired of doing those sometimes), but definitely, I do want to animate more~
But yep, that's that. Ah, Ian, you hopeless kid...

* A * Bloody hell this is astounding...I love love love LOVE the perspectives and angles you have * A* you I love the slow pan as Ian look's down! There's such a great feeling of the height he's at! * A* and The way you slowly animated him letting go of the railing followed by the fast fall! GAH! That moment is just wonderful!!! * A * Just having that part slower add's to that moment I feel! * A * like " Wait...did he really just do that?!" I also freaking LOVE LOVE LOVE AND ADORE AS HE'S FALLING! how you change the perspective and show the velocity as he falls GAH!! THAT IS SO AWESOME! ;//////; Then when you show his field of view it's such a wonderful touch DJALSJL:AJDKLAS All in all this is absolutely astounding ;///w///; I really wish I could animate like this 8'D I can only do simple animations though XD . But Seriously this is absolutely beautiful. The way you use perspective's and your timing's really add to the magic <3 you should be very proud! X3

Pahahahah, thanks so much, the perspective change was pretty crazy, there were a couple of frames I was drawing with a kind of 4-point/fisheye perspective and I was just wondering, "the hell am I doing???" but I persevered, and it made sense somehow in the end... xD;

You finished the buildinnnnnnngs D: I'm still super impressed you even did this much in such a short time! You may have rushed the end, but you also got the full thought out which is an achievement~ And yes. The beginning is awesomely done. (with all of that glorious hair)

That's one of those things that school used to kill me with. I STILL have a whole box full of stuff from school-time in my apartment with things I wanted to eventually get back to finishing @___@, I should show it to you next time you visit....

WELL. It's rough, but it gets the point across.
I've studied a lot of motion theory / sequential storytelling and about how a specific series of images can "trick" the eye into believing things. So one could say you used the right sum of parts to create a greater whole.

Man, are there whole classes in motion theory or is that just under storyboarding/flim/animation and the like? @_@
Either way, I'm glad that this works, ah! (though now that I look at it I want to slow down that camera rotation so much, but I'll see if I can find the time for it... xD; )

There are classes like Motion Design (i.e. learning AfterEffects) but theory itself I think I picked up anecdotally from storyboarding teachers and from stuff online. 
I suppose if you have those frames as a basis, it should be easy to do the in-betweens? (hooray for onion-skin settings) XD;
