(even though there isn't even one announced, but darned if they don't XP)Anyways, I put together a picture of characters I want in the Super Smash Bros. Series of games, here's a list that might be better:

Lol, I know that's prob. alot of characters, but I bet at least some additions will make it.
(ps I took out Toon Link from the list, I don't think there should be 3 Links.

Waluigi's profile did not exactly say that a character who previously appeared as an Assist Trophy in Brawl is not elligible to be playable in Super Smash Bros. 4. The statement, "The fact that heβs an Assist Trophy means he wonβt be appearing as a playable character" may not necessarily mean that a character who appeared in Brawl as an Assist Trophy is inelligible to appear as a playable character in future SSB games. Masahiro Sakurai did not say what that statement in Waluigi's profile means for future SSB games.

nice, but what about knuckles the echindna, Ryu Ken and Chun Li, Raiden from Metal Gear?

I would've added Mephiles as well as Dark Samus. There's too much heroes and not enough villains in SSBB in my opinion.

Some of the character choices for your SSB4 list aren't that good, here's why:
1. Having second versions of the same character (ex. Dr. Mario) would be a waste of space and possibly create a time paradox
2. Animal Crossing is a peaceful franchise, so no Tom Nook
3. Characters who first appeared as assist trophies aren't allowed to be playable in future installment
4. Geno is a Mario spin off character, and I think Mario spin-off characters aren't allowed to be playable unless they have a canon game appearance.
5. The lack of a 5th/6th gen Pokemon rep

Masahiro Sakurai only stated that Waluigi would not be playable in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. He did not state that characters who first appeared as Assist Trophies are not eligible to be playable in Super Smash Bros. 4. Little Mac already got his own Wii game last year, and he may be confirmed as playable character when SSB4 is first announced to dismiss this claim. Therefore, Lyn still has a chance to be playable in SSB4, and the Fire Emblem franchise is on hiatus.
Geno was originally going to appear in Brawl as a playable character, but negotiations took too long. He is owned by Square Enix, which has strict copyright and trademark policies. Mario spin-off characters are eligible to be playable in Super Smash Bros. series.
Fifth-generation PokΓ©mon games have recently been announced as PokΓ©mon Black and White. It is unknown whether there will be sixth generation games at the time of SSB4's release.

And why can't assist trophies be playable?
And this is one of the only places where time time paradox doesn't matter because the characters are supposed to be trophies turned to life, Hence Olimar being 10 times his normal size...

I thought characters were suppose to be the real thing, even Snake's codecs and Star Fox codecs makes it sound like they're real instead of trophies. Geno hasn't made an appearance in a real Mario/DK/Yoshi/Wario game, so he's out. I just got the idea about the "assist trophies can't be playable" after reading Waluigi's profile.

I almost forgot, Geno was actually supposed to be in Brawl, But the negotiations took too long so they left him out, thats why it got delayed so much, fortunately that gave them time to put in Sonic.

I can see the time paradox thing, ha, Melee did it good though, oh well.
I hope Tom Nook or someone could show up from AC, just to make an interesting and good item using fighter, kinda like Link. If not AC, hopefully someone similar.
Yeah, I hope Geno does have some future appearence, otherwise I don't see him in, but then there's Mr. G&W, or R.O.B., wutev. Hope he makes it, interesting choice..

Makes sense, since Jigglypuff (during 1st gen), Mewtwo (during 2nd gen), then Lucario (during 4th gen), and your right, ??? (during 5th/6th gen)
Though Jigglypuff stuck it out through, hope Mewtwo comes back though

Nice List. Personally, if Nintendo does come up with a SSB4, I'd like to see the following as playable:
Waluigi
Shadow the Hedgegog
Blaze the Cat
Bomberman
and possible Crash Bandicoot.
