Fanart of a fanfic's supplemental art. Yup.

So ~design-escape's fanfic Mega Man Recut is basically a retelling of the entire Ruby-Spears Megaman cartoon as a more serious, continuity-laden work. Some details of episodes are altered, but to great effect.

As we can see here, her version of Roll from "Future Shock" looks a bit different.

From the fic: "Underneath the chains she was wearing a suit of armor made of thin, titanium sheets. What appeared to be tattoos ran down her arms, zig-zags, barbed wire, and the names of bands she liked during the nineties. Her ears sported many new piercings, and there was a black spiked band in her hair, which looked messier than usual. Her eyes and lips were both painted black."

The sprite art was based off of this supplemental pic from her tumblr, which, as you'll notice, isn't colored in. [link]

So I pretty much had to decide my own color palette XD i tied to work the tattoos and stuff in there but there's only so much you can do with the area to work with. i did the best I could, and had a heck of a time trying to mess with Roll's hair. XD Also, straight black for eyeshadow and lipstick looked weird so i compromised with dark grey.
